These cookies are my MOST FAVORITE cookies in the ENTIRE world!!! They stay soft for days, if kept properly!
Sour Cream Cookies, makes six dozen (good for cookie exchanges)
2 c sugar 1 c shortening
3 eggs, beaten 1 c sour cream
1 t. salt 5 c. flour
3 t. baking powder 1 1/2 c nuts, chopped
1/2 t. soda
To make sour cream, if not using commercial, use 1 c evaporated milkadd 2 T. vinegar, let stand for 10 minutes.
Cream sugar, shortening, eggs, vanilla and sour cream, mix well and thenadd dry ingredients. Add nuts, roll into balls then roll into mixture of sugarand cinnamon. (For Christmas use red and green cake decorator sprinkles. Not mixed together) Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min. Soft and Moorish!these need to be kept in a closed dish or bag or they harden. I found another one that is new to me and will send it when I locate it, itsounded sinfully delicious.
